IMPORTANT NOTES: 18 Mbyte secure
PDF. To read this PDF you will need a special reader, available for free,
and an internet connection. The reader is currently available for 32-bit
Windows 7, 2000, XP, and Vista. See below for further information. 64 bit
Windows 7 is not currently supported - it may or may not
work! For Mac support a Windows emulator is required - see the install page for more details
1. Install
the special Secure PDF reader To
read and print your copy of Geospatial Analysis you will need a special
PDF Reader: this PDF Reader is available free of charge and works in the
same way as the Acrobat Reader. Download and save the installer .zip file
to your hard disk. Unzip its contents on the computer you wish to use to
read the PDF and run setup.exe to install the software (approximately 3Mbytes .zip file). 2. Register the
reader After you have successfully installed
the special PDF Reader (called Drumlin), run it to check its operation and
to register your computer. The "welcome" document in the installation
directory explains how to use the Drumlin reader. To register you will
need an active internet connection. Important: please provide your correct
details, as you will need these to order the guide. You will receive an
e-mail automatically with your registration details and customer
reference. Your customer reference details can also be viewed via the Help
menu|About option. Please note this information for use when ordering. For
queries and further information on the installation and use of the Drumlin
Reader please see the Welcome Secure PDF
document and the online information and support pages at the DRUMLIN
web site. 3. Place
your order Please make sure you have first
installed and registered your copy of the Drumlin reader as described
above, then place your order: Order
Geospatial Analysis PDF Version (secure purchase) Payment is secure
and you can pay by credit card, debit card or PayPal account. Paypal will
send you an e-mail receipt for your order. Once payment has been received,
you will receive an e-mail from ourselves. Note that this process is
manual and may take up to 48 hours, though typically authorisation codes
are provided within a few hours. 4.Download
the special PDF version of "Geospatial
Analysis" Download the special PDF version
of "Geospatial Analysis" (approx. 18 MB file: GA312.drmx). The Geospatial
Analysis PDF can be downloaded at any time. It is a .drmx file which means
it requires an authorisation code in order to convert it to a readable pdf
file. We will send you an authorisation code by email. When you receive
the code, start the Drumlin reader software and select File menu|Authorize
option, and specify where you want the authorized file (with extension
.drm now) to be stored, e.g. "c:\docs\GA312.drm". Then, when prompted,
enter the code you have been provided with. You can copy this from the
email and paste it into the box provided. Please note you must have an
active Internet connection at this point, as your code is checked
centrally. Once authorized you can read the document and print it any
number of times. If you have any problems with this process please email
us. Backing up and usage restrictions: Your full
version is your personal copy and you are free to make backups of the
document (.drm file) and the downloaded .drmx file as you please. Please
note, however, that you can only read it from the PC and drive onto which
you downloaded it. You or other PC users cannot read it on other
computers. Please also see the End User License (PDF). For additional
licensing information, e.g. for part or bulk usage, in connection with
teaching programmes, please email us
Reader features and
help: Note that PDF files with the additional extension ".drm"
cannot be read by standard PDF readers. For queries and further
information on the Drumlin Reader please see the Welcome PDF document and
the online information and support pages at the DRUMLIN PDF Security
web site, which includes Help and FAQ pages. |

Please note: the Reader requires the latest
version of the .NET 2.0 framework software from Microsoft. Should it not
already be installed on your computer the installer will prompt you to
download and install it from the Microsoft homepage first before
installation proceeds. Microsoft .NET is available free of charge.
Depending on your firewall settings you may receive a firewall alert
notification during installation and registration (below). This is
perfectly normal and is not a cause for concern. The reader and
installation process has been tested on Windows 7, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista, in 32bit and 64bit versions (not Win 7 64bit)
Proxy support is included. An uninstall facility is provided. If
your installation fails or you do not wish to install the Drumlin reader,
we regret you will not be able to use the PDF version of the guide. You
can still access the web version or use the printed book. The PDF version
has been adjusted to print on A4 paper. If you need to print on US Letter
format or other paper size please consult your Printer settings.
Hyperlinks and internal bookmarks are supported in the Reader and much of
the document, but the software used to generate the underlying PDF from
the Word source fails to create a complete set of internal links.
Unfortunately this is completely our of our control.
