Geospatial analysis is not simply a collection of techniques that may be applied in certain specific situations, assuming that the relevant data are available. It is very much a part of a larger process, and is often a relatively small element, albeit vitally important and at times, relatively complex part. In the following sections a number of analytical methodologies are described, with a particular focus on our spatial version of a methodology known as PPDAC: Problem, Plan, Data, Analysis and Conclusions.
